Baian Chen is a countertenor based in Boston, MA, and an undergraduate student at the New England Conservatory of Music. He has performed roles such as Oberon inA Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bradamante in Alcina, and Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice. In addition to his operatic work, Baian has appeared in recitals and concertsinternationally, including performances at the Saluzzo Opera Academy in Italy and NEC’s Undergraduate Showcase and Song and Verse series. He has also performed as a soloist in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in London. Passionate about storytelling through music, Baian is dedicated to historical performance and exploring new artistic possibilities, using his voice to connect people through shared emotions and experiences.
