Meet a special programme in a great environment with a dedicated expert team

Barock Vokal Akademie offers a three-week programme for young singers who wish to deepen their knowledge of historic performance practice. Internationally renowned artists and specialists on the field of baroque music will join the faculty and support the participants in their artistic development.

Lessons in baroque singing, vocal embellishment and recitative, classes in performance (e.g. baroque dance and gesture), language coaching, vocal chamber music and concerts are part of the curriculum. Auditions and roundtable discussions with conductors, concert agencies and festival managers are planned in order to help the young artists establish contacts into the professional world.

The faculty will comprise specialists from the Hochschule für Musik Mainz as well as international experts, teaching individual classes during the summer academy. And being located on the campus site of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the vicinity to faculties like the department of musicology provide further expertise.

Barock Vokal Akademie wishes to help young singers in developing their artistic personality and with their career start by offering as well the possibility to acquire special skills as introducing them to a professional network.
