Elisabeth Scholl, soprano and professor for voice, is the artistic director of the programme. She studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basle Baroque singing and musicology at the JGU Mainz. During her professional career she worked with the leading Baroque orchestras, ensembles and conductors of Europe, recorded numerous CDs. She is a dedicated digger for unpublished vocal music, promoter of professional musical curiosity and a passionate teacher.

Managing director Markus Stein is in control of the administrative part of BVA. Due to the fact that he is a sought after harpsichordist and organ player with vast experience as soloist and ensemble-player, he is also part of the BVA “executive team”, meaning that he belongs to the faculty as well.
